China Aviation Industry General Aircraft (CAIGA) recently announced in Jinwan that its latest single-engine Cirrus jet has been awarded the Vision Jet Type certificate by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Furthermore, the first such aircraft has been delivered to Europe.
"This is an exciting day for Cirrus Aircraft and for our customers throughout Europe," Pat Waddick, president of innovation and operations, said in a news release. "The EASA approval of the Vision Jet Type certificate paves the way for a ramp up of aircraft deliveries in Europe and continues to propel Cirrus Aircraft into new markets across the world."

CAIGA is the leading industry in Zhuhai Aviation Industrial Park in Jinwan District. It acquired the US company Cirrus Industries Inc in 2011.
EASA approval comes after Cirrus Aircraft earned the Vision Jet Type Certificate from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in October 2016 and its production certificate earlier this month.
In addition to EASA validation, Cirrus Vision Jet recently received approval from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) in Australia as well.
Steve Higgins, EASA airworthiness representative, awarded an EASA Certificate of Airworthiness (CofA) to Dale Klapmeier, CEO and co-founder of Cirrus Aircraft, at the 2017 European Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (EBACE) in Geneva, Switzerland on May 22.

Cirrus Vision can seat seven and can be operated by a single pilot. The jet can reach a ceiling of 28,000 feet at a maximum cruise speed of 300 knots (around 550 km/h). Cirrus Vision is also the first jet equipped with a whole-aircraft parachute system.
For owners of the Cirrus SR22 and other high-performance piston aircraft, Cirrus Vision is called an ideal upgrade. The jet is also promoted as a good choice for air service operators seeking affordable solutions for regional transportation.
Cirrus Aircraft exhibited the newly delivered Cirrus Vision jet and its best-selling piston aircraft at the 2017 EBACE from May 22 to 25.
With more than 600 production positions reserved, deliveries of the world’s first single-engine personal jet began last December.
