By-Health, BASF target nutrition customized for you

Sanzao-based nutrition supplement producer By-Health announced on May 24 that it would cooperate with German chemical giant BASF to develop customized precision nutrition technology.

According to By-Health, the strategic development agreement with BASF calls for the sharing of information, brand activities, and market promotion. Both parties have agreed to make full use of mutual advantages in products and raw materials while teaming up in nutrition technology.

Personalized nutrition considers inheritance, cultural and family aspects, lifestyle, clinical history, likes and dislikes, hypersensitivity or intolerance to certain foods, regular physical activity, perinatal nutrition, and epigenetics when designing dietary advice and nutritional needs of each person, Alfredo Martinez, a leader in the field, recently told NutritionInsight.

By-Health is located in Sanzao Science & Technology Industrial Park of Jinwan District and reportedly is setting up a pharma unit in Hengqin New Area. It manufactures pharmaceuticals and medicines with food nutrition supplements being its main product.

BASF is the world’s largest producer of chemical products. Its headquarters are in Ludwigshafen on the banks of the Rhine River. BASF is listed on the Frankfurt, London, and Zurich stock exchanges.
