As the only border checkpoint connected with both Hong Kong and Macao, the 100,000 sqm grid Zhuhai structure has total floor space of 279,000 sqm, including Clearance Buildings A and B, the Transportation Center, and Transportation Corridor.
Grid installation of the approximately 70,000 sqm Clearance Building A was finished on April 16, setting records for the heaviest and largest grids among all China’s border clearance building projects.
The west side of Clearance Building A is now connected to the Transportation Center via a 7m-high overhead footway. The 23.9m high Transportation Center occupies floorage of 138,000 sqm. The Building A construction grid structure consumed more than 8,000 tons of steel. To ensure the quality of construction, the project department employed special techniques to install the grids and reticulated shells.
