Changzhou Textile Garment Institute

Changzhou Textile Garment Institute, established in 1958, is renowned for the research competence in physical and mechanic performance testing of textile fibers, analysis and testing of dyes and auxiliaries, design of new textiles, and fashion design, etc.

The institute covers a total area of 825 acres, with the building floor of about 300,000 square meters. It is garden-styled, digital, ecological and sustainable development campus. School library is about 29,000 square meters and contains a collection of over 1,100,000 books. Teaching facilities and equipment are valued at 80 million yuan. There are also key libraries such as Jiangsu Provincial Engineering Technique Centre for Functional Fiber and Changzhou Key Laboratory of New Type Textile Material. In addition, the institute is qualified for asserting 163 types of work in its state-level Vocational Skills Certification and Training Centers. Over 140 off-campus training and teaching bases has also been established in its partner enterprises.

The institute is located in the first state-level higher vocational education park – Changzhou Science and Education Park. Six institutes in the park cultivate technical talents for Changzhou and other cities by open classes, credits admitting and resources sharing. This park has signed contracts to cooperate with scientific research institutions, high-tech enterprises and prestigious universities such as Chinese Academy of Sciences, Nanjing University, Hohai University and the universities from the USA, the UK, Canada and Germany, etc. About 100 centers have been established for experiment, social practice, training and technique development. It is going forward to be the demonstration area of national vocational education, experimental area of integrating producing, teaching and researching, and nesting area of science and technology innovation.
