​Xi'an Port sees over 2m entries and exits in 2025

Shaanxi General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection inspected 2.06 million personnel at Xi'an Port in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 47 percent.

Among them, 1.36 million were Chinese mainland residents, 124,000 were Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan residents, and 577,000 were international visitors, with year-on-year increases of 33 percent, 62 percent, and 89 percent, respectively.

Lyu Bin, a representative of the Shaanxi Frontier Inspection, said that the number of international visitors entering Xi'an Port exceeded 280,000 in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 94 percent, of which more than 70 percent benefited from facilitation policies, including unilateral and mutual visa-free arrangements.

The inspection environment at Xi'an Port greatly improved with the opening of Xi'an Xianyang International Airport's Terminal 5. The terminal's entry and exit inspection waiting area expanded to 6,500 square meters. The frontier inspection department launched the "Shaanxi frontier inspection information filling system", with about 40 percent of international passengers achieving "online pre-filling and offline quick verification", and declaration efficiency improved by 40 percent.

Xi'an Xianyang International Airport added international flights to Dushanbe, Tajikistan; Shymkent, Kazakhstan; and Istanbul, Turkiye. The number of personnel inspections and flight inspections between Xi'an Port and Central Asian countries increased by 56 percent and 19 percent year-on-year, respectively, reflecting the vitality of economic, trade, and cultural exchanges under the Belt and Road Initiative.

The number of inbound and outbound flights at Xi'an Port exceeded 14,000 in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 46 percent. Among them, there were more than 12,000 passenger flights and over 1,700 cargo flights, with year-on-year increases of 46 percent and 78 percent, respectively.

Lyu said that the frontier inspection department will focus on enhancing airport operations, continue to optimize the frontier inspection process, and further promote Shaanxi's high-level opening-up through strict control and efficient services.
