Smart vehicle locating system launched in Jinan

A smart vehicle locating system has recently started operating in the north concourse of Jinan Railway Station, marking the first of its kind in Shandong province.

Once a ride-hailing vehicle enters the designated parking area, cameras automatically identify the vehicle's license plate and parking location, transmitting the information in real time to a central display.

The system includes a color-coded matching mechanism, linking each parking bay and its number to a specific color. This allows passengers to find the general area of their vehicles. The display screen shows the license plates and parking bay numbers of vehicles currently in the area.

For more detailed guidance, passengers can use self-service kiosks to access key information, including the vehicle's exact location, model, and color. By streamlining the vehicle-search process, the system significantly reduces waiting time, improves traffic flow within the station concourse, and helps ease congestion.
