Professor Fabrizio Dughiero from the University of Padova's Department of Industrial Engineering was appointed Guest Professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) on Dec 4. The news was simultaneously published on a local Padova news platform in Italy, which praised HUST's strong academic growth and rising international influence.
Professor Dughiero currently serves as Dean of the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Padova. He is widely recognized for his work in electromagnetic processing of materials, research and innovation policy, and for his leadership in advancing academic research, industry-university collaboration, and regional innovation ecosystems.
"This is an important honor for me," Professor Dughiero said, noting that the appointment marks a new stage in the partnership between HUST and the University of Padova. He emphasized that both institutions will continue to deepen cooperation in scientific research, academic exchange, and talent development.
"I strongly believe in the power of exchanging people and ideas – the movement of faculty and students between different environments fosters mutual understanding, builds trust, and connects cultures and traditions," he said.
Looking ahead, he expressed confidence that the two universities will keep expanding cooperation across various fields, improving both depth and quality. He emphasized the importance of strengthening synergy between education and technology, contributing to the dialogue between Chinese and Western civilizations and fostering long-term friendship between the two countries.
