Yantai in East China's Shandong province started its city image promotion aimed at South Korea on Nov 28, with a themed flight month by Shandong Airlines on routes between Yantai and South Korea.
During the campaign month, Shandong Airlines flights to South Korea will become "Yantai City Showrooms in the Clouds". Passengers will experience Yantai's charm with onboard videos, features in the Jinqiao magazine, airport lounge displays, and cultural gift bags with "Made in Yantai" items.
Officials pointed out Yantai's strong ties with South Korea, supported by frequent flights. Yantai Penglai International Airport has nearly 60 weekly passenger flights and 40 weekly cargo flights to South Korea in peak seasons, leading in cargo volume among Chinese airports on South Korea routes.
The campaign also promotes a Korean-language micro-website, "Hello World, I am Yantai", as a digital window into the city's culture, tourism, and open environment for South Korean audiences.
This step creatively uses air travel and multimedia to strengthen ties and display Yantai's image as a lively coastal city to its international neighbor.
