​Xi'an International Music Festival to open in Dec

The 24th Xi'an International Music Festival will open on Dec 3, gathering many world-class artists and groups to bring a month-long performance, igniting the artistic passion for the winter in Xi'an.

The opening performance of this year's music festival will be held from Dec 2 to 3, inviting renowned conductor Teodor Currentzis and Musicaeterna Orchestra to perform at the Xi'an Grand Theater and Xi'an Concert Hall. The orchestra has rapidly risen in Europe with its distinctive personality and innovative performance style. They will bring the most recognizable symphonic performance style to Xi'an, presenting multifaceted music through innovation and opening a new chapter for the music festival.

During the music festival, many top international musicians will also gather in Xi'an. Zhang Guoyong, a famous conductor, will work with violinist Kavakos and the Xi'an Symphony Orchestra to perform Tchaikovsky's classic works. The concert featuring Zhao Jiping's works will combine symphonies with fairy tales to bring a stunning and majestic sound to Xi'an audiences.
