Jiuquan upgrades transportation network to boost development

During the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25), Jiuquan focused on upgrading transportation infrastructure, optimizing transport services and enhancing governance capacity.

The city steadily increased project construction and investment, completing 34.3 billion yuan ($4.83 billion) in fixed-asset investment, advancing traffic development from merely meeting basic needs to pursuing high-quality growth, and laying a solid foundation for the development of strong transportation infrastructure.

The integrated upgrade project of G30 Lianhuo Expressway from Guazhou to Xingxingxia, known as the Guaxing integration project, is accelerating construction.

The Guaxing integration project is a key section of the G312 route, spanning 162.43 kilometers with a total investment of 5.70 billion yuan.

Li Dongyang, director of the Guaxing integration project office and engineering management department, said that so far, 860 million yuan has been invested, and 852,400 cubic meters of roadbed fill have been completed. Upon completion, the project will improve the national and provincial trunk highway network and significantly promote high-quality regional economic and social development.

Developing stronger transportation infrastructure will better meet the travel and freight needs of the public, enhancing their sense of gain, happiness, and security. Jiuquan is accelerating the development of infrastructure networks, while the expressway network has achieved historic breakthroughs, with four major projects now underway.
