The Lin-gang Special Area Administration, German multinational corporation Siemens and the International Data Port signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Sept 24 to jointly construct the Cross-Border Data & International Carbon Footprint Certification Exchange Service Platform. This marks a step forward by Lin-gang in promoting the deep integration of green and digital economies.

The International Data Port and Siemens also signed an agreement on the implementation of the platform. Leveraging the former's expertise in cross-border data flow security and management and the latter's advanced carbon accounting methodologies in industrial automation and digitalization, the two parties will jointly drive the platform's technical execution and operation.

It is China's first one-stop service hub focusing on both carbon emissions and data compliance. The initiative will help the Lin-gang Special Area become a hub for cross-border carbon data, driving the sustainable development of the region's economy.
