Symphony concert honors China's aerospace pioneers at Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center

The Wuxi Symphony Orchestra and the Inner Mongolia Art Theater Symphony Orchestra jointly presented a concert called Echoes of History, Great Victory on Sept 8 at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Northwest China.

The performance paid tribute to generations of aerospace scientists, engineers, and workers who have committed themselves to the nation's space program, along with their families.

The centerpiece of the evening was a captivating performance with three movements from the original symphonic suite Flying to the Sky (Feitian), composed by the Wuxi Symphony Orchestra. This suite is a remarkable synthesis of traditional Chinese folk elements with modern symphonic techniques, capturing the centuries-long dream of flight in Chinese culture and its fulfillment.

With a blend of passion and precision, the concert connected with the audience. The evening reached its emotional peak with a powerful performance of Ode to the Motherland, a patriotic anthem that moved the entire hall to stand in applause.
