Xi'an team tops 2025 Shaanxi Youth International Wrestling Championships

A team from Xi'an claimed gold in the men's and silver in the women's at the 2025 Shaanxi Youth International Wrestling Championships and Qualification for the 18th Shaanxi Provincial Games, which came to an end on July 30 in Heyang county, Weinan.

A total of 322 athletes from nine cities in the province participated in the competition. Among them, the Xi'an team sent 45 male athletes and 27 female athletes. The competition was divided into male and female Group A (2007-2009), Group B (2010-2011), and Group C (2012-2013). The team achieved excellent results with their superb skills and tenacious perseverance, winning 14 gold, 11 silver, and 11 bronze medals.

"The Xi'an athletes fought and overcame difficulties in this competition, completing their target tasks," said Yuan Lingrui, director of the Xi'an Weightlifting, Wrestling, Judo Sports Management Center. "We hope our team members can take this competition as an opportunity to work harder in future training and preparation, and strive to achieve more outstanding results."
