The departure of flight MU855 from Xi'an Xianyang International Airport on July 16 marked the opening of China Eastern Airlines' first direct flight route from Xi'an to Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.
The route will operate every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, with flights departing from Xi'an at 12:15 and arriving in Tashkent at 14:50 local time. The return flight departs from Tashkent at 16:10 and lands in Xi'an at 00:05 the next day.
The direct flight route achieves efficient connection between the two cities, building an air bridge for business and cultural exchanges, injecting new vitality into deepening connectivity between countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.
This is the fifth international route starting from Xi'an launched by China Eastern Airlines this year. Its opening increases China Eastern Airlines' international destinations from Xi'an to 17, helping Xi'an Xianyang International Airport accelerate the construction of a global network with location advantages and enhancing its regional gateway composite function.
During the peak summer season, China Eastern Airlines has increased the number of routes from Xi'an to Singapore and opened a new route from Xining to Hong Kong that stops over in Xi'an, meeting passengers' travel needs.
The Northwest Branch of China Eastern Airlines will continue to optimize network layouts, improve service quality, and provide a more convenient and efficient air channel for economic, trade, and cultural exchanges between countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.
