A calligraphy and painting exhibition dedicated to Zhang Daqian (1899-1983) opens today at the Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum, focusing on Zhang's works from the 1930s to 1940s. As one of the most influential Chinese artists of the 20th century, Zhang Daqian drew inspiration from classical traditions and ancient masterpieces, while refining his own iconic and distinctive style.
