Ordos city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region has secured a major boost to its premium beef industry, signing cooperation agreements worth 585 million yuan ($81.25 million) at a promotional conference on May 28.
Six local enterprises from Ordos inked partnership agreements with supply chain partners from Guangdong, Shanghai, and other regions, aiming to strengthen supply-demand integration in the high-end beef sector.
This strategic cooperation is set to establish a stable supply chain from the grasslands of Inner Mongolia to dinner tables across China. It will also enhance the supply of high-quality beef to key regions such as the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the southwest market, paving the way for a national premium beef trading network.
In recent years, Ordos has implemented measures to drive the rapid development of its beef industry. The city now has a premium cattle stock of 124,000, including 114,000 Angus and 10,000 Wagyu cattle, accounting for 30 percent of Inner Mongolia's total.
