Hohhot, capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, is currently home to 31 national green factories and two green supply chain management enterprises, ranking first in the region. This achievement is a result of the city's efforts in green industrial development.
Qilu Pharmaceutical (Inner Mongolia) Co is one of the city's 31 national green factories. Wang Weijun, the company's deputy general manager, said that by conducting energy-saving diagnostics, implementing cleaner production methods, and exploring opportunities to reduce energy consumption, the company has optimized its sterilization processes, upgraded workshop motors and lighting, improved filtration methods, and made technical modifications to its production processes.
In 2024, the company reduced its total energy consumption by 1,544 metric tons of standard coal, saved 3,561 tons of water, and cut wastewater discharge by 14,628 tons, achieving both economic and environmental benefits.
Being recognized as a green factory brings the company substantial financial rewards, supporting environmental upgrades, innovation, and industrial advancement. The title also enhances its brand value, market influence, and customer trust, providing strong backing for business expansion.
Meanwhile, Inner Mongolia Dayao Jiabin Beverage Co is continuously optimizing its energy structure by improving core production processes, enhancing efficiency, and reducing energy consumption. This has led to a decrease of 10-20 percent in the company's energy usage. Last December, the company also received the title of "green factory".
