OVC signs 16 life health projects

Agreements for 16 life health enterprise projects to be established in the Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC) were signed at the Biolake's first-quarter investment promotion conference and the high-quality development conference for the medical equipment industry on March 28.

These projects span innovative drugs, high-end medical equipment, medical artificial intelligence, and more, with a total investment of approximately 10 billion yuan ($1.38 billion).

The event aims to offer a platform for industry exchange, integrate upstream and downstream resources of the medical equipment industry chain, expand application scenarios, and attract high-end medical equipment industries to OVC. Over 200 representatives of key medical equipment enterprises, medical institutions, financial institutions, and industry associations attended the event.

Additionally, Hubei province's first medical service complex, the Optics Valley Medical Service Complex, was launched during the conference. The complex aims to serve as a one-stop, high-end medical and healthcare service platform and is expected to attract over 30 high-end medical service projects with an annual service capacity of over 100,000 visitors.

To date, OVC has nurtured over 500 high-tech enterprises in the life health industry, with three leading enterprises with revenues exceeding 10 billion yuan, over 400 new drugs under research, and more than 1,400 pieces of certified Class II and III medical equipment.

An official from Biolake stated that they will continue to encourage innovation, optimize the business environment, attract more high-quality enterprises, support companies in expanding into overseas markets, and improve the ecosystem of the medical equipment industry chain in OVC.
