Over 2,000 cherry blossom trees have entered their peak blooming period along the Third Ring Road of the Gaoxin Avenue in Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC), creating a spectacular "Cherry Blossom Corridor".
Nearly 1,800 new cherry blossom trees were planted this year along the avenue and at various metro stations. Combined with the existing trees, the number of cherry blossom trees now exceeds 2,000. The central ecological corridor, Xiyuan Park, and Jiufengxi Park have also been densely planted with cherry blossom trees.
