Xi'an Sanyi Society, hosted by the Chinese Opera Performing Society, performed its masterpiece, The Flame Colt, for local fans on March 17 at the Northwest Opera Exhibition.
The society, well-known in Northwest China, particularly in Gansu province, attracted thousands of people to enjoy the performance.
The Flame Coltis Sanyi Society's specialty show, with love as the central theme and a strong sense of patriotism. For over 100 years, generations of Qinqiang Opera performers have kept the play intact on the stage.
The show starred Hou Hongqin, winner of the Plum Performance Award, along with Ma Lu, Kang Yachan, Wang Ying, and Li Kangding. "The audience was very enthusiastic. After the play was completed, many called for the actors to return to the stage for an encore," said Miss Song, a staff member of the Sanyi Society, "The show was also broadcast online, and the number of viewers exceeded one million."
"Operas from all over the country have brought a cultural feast for the fans. We are proud to be Xi'an Qinqiang Opera people," said Hou Hongqin, president of the Sanyi Society.
