Taizhou leads Jiangsu in new agricultural leading enterprises

Taizhou, Jiangsu, saw the addition of two new national-level and 15 provincial-level leading agricultural enterprises in 2024, ranking first in the province. 

Among them, Hesheng Food Group has made significant strides in breeding native chicken species, feed processing, broiler farming, and poultry deep processing. In 2023, the company achieved revenue of 1.85 billion yuan ($255.62 million). It operates 12 subsidiaries across Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangxi, Anhui, and Guangdong, benefiting 6,735 farming households by boosting their incomes. 

Lan Hua, a group manager, said, "In 2025, our company will continue expanding partnerships with farms and cooperatives, providing full-process breeding technology services and risk management to support local farmers' income growth. At the same time, we will strengthen collaboration with top research institutions to enhance our competitiveness. We aim to surpass 100 million native chickens in production by 2026."
