University of Jinan's physics discipline enters top 1% in ESI ranking

The physics discipline of the University of Jinan ranked among the top 1 percent in the Essential Science Indicators (ESI) rankings, according to statistics published by data analysis and service provider Clarivate Analytics.

This is the ninth discipline the university has had included in the top 1 percent on the ESI list. The other eight are chemistry, materials science, engineering, clinical medicine, environmental science and ecology, biology and biochemistry, pharmacology and toxicology, and computer science.

ESI is a basic analysis and evaluation tool to measure scientific research performance and track scientific development trends.

The ranking covers the period from Jan 1, 2014, to Dec 31, 2024. Globally, a total of 991 institutions were included in the top 1 percent in physics. The physics disciplineof theUniversity of Jinanranks 965th worldwide, with 1,393 high-quality research papers published.
