This year, Tai'an city in Shandong is prioritizing high-quality development, accelerating the growth of new quality productive forces, and supporting new industrialization by introducing more key projects, as outlined by city mayor Li Lanxiang.
"Since last year, the central government has introduced a series of favorable policies to boost domestic demand expansion and innovation-driven development, unprecedented in scale, injecting vitality into local development," said Li.
The Government Work Report for this year has proposed measures to boost consumption, develop new quality productive forces, and promote green and low-carbon development. Tai'an city plans to vigorously implement these policies, fully unleashing the vitality of high-quality development, Li said.
He added that according to the Government Work Report presented at this year's two sessions, the country will develop new quality productive forces tailored to local conditions and hasten the construction of a modern industrial system. Tai'an will intensify efforts to develop new quality productive forces and advance the city's strength through new industrialization. This includes strengthening 11 key industrial chains, promoting faster growth in the industrial economy, and improving quality. The city also aims to advance the construction of 225 key projects like the international fluorosilicon materials industrial park, with plans to invest over 70 billion yuan ($9.66 billion) this year.
In the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, Tai'an will vigorously implement 673 manufacturing technology renovation and equipment upgrade projects. This will facilitate the iterative upgrading of traditional industries. The city will also focus on cultivating and expanding emerging industries, accelerating projects like Huakun domestic servers to establish new industrial advantages. Furthermore, Tai'an will strategically plan for future industries, emphasizing projects such as the synthetic biology industrial park, the commercial launch vehicle project by Orienspace, and the low-altitude economic industrial park to build future industrial clusters with core competitiveness, according to Li.
Last year, Tai'an welcomed 94.29 million domestic tourists and generated tourism revenue of 90.27 billion yuan, marking growth rates of 12.3 percent and 13.8 percent, respectively. The number of tourists to Taishan Mountain exceeded 8 million for two consecutive years. Li mentioned that Tai'an will continue to enhance the integration of culture and tourism, speeding up the release of potential in the consumer market, Li said.
Additionally, Tai'an will intensify efforts to implement the national strategy for the Yellow River, continually promoting green, low-carbon, and high-quality development. The city will roll out the implementation of 100 key projects in the Yellow River priority areas, aiming to invest over 18 billion yuan within the year, stated Li.
