Ordos cultural heritage revitalized through music

The "Warm City Love Song" National Singing Competition recently took center stage in Ordos city, blending music with intangible cultural heritage to create a unique and immersive experience.

The event, organized by the Ordos bureau of culture and tourism, brought together various industries and enthusiasts from across the country. Through digital platforms, it innovatively propelled intangible cultural heritage from the vast grasslands into the national spotlight, allowing a broader audience to appreciate the distinct charm of northern China's cultural traditions.

Since launching in January, the competition has become a bold experiment to dynamically transmit heritage. Grassroots participants from different regions showcase traditional music forms such as Ordos short-tune folk songs, Manhan melodies, and Guru songs, using their voices to narrate heartfelt stories of their lives and communities.
