Jiangsu's first gasification-based green methanol project—Longi Green Methanol and related cooperation projects—have been signed and will be established in Ganyu district, Lianyungang, with strong support from the task force of Wuxi National Hi-Tech District in Haizhou district, Lianyungang.

With a total investment of 6 billion yuan ($827.19 million), the project is expected to produce 300,000 metric tons of biomass-derived green methanol annually.

Longi Green Energy is the world's most valuable photovoltaic company, operating in over 150 countries and regions. Its module products rank first worldwide in shipments and market share for three consecutive years. The company is also at the forefront of providing global zero-carbon solutions.

Longi has maintained a strong and fruitful collaboration with Wuxi over the years, including the establishment of a hydrogen energy equipment manufacturing base in Wuxi National Hi-Tech District, aiming to build a new hub for hydrogen energy development.

The signing of this project in Lianyungang marks a significant step in the cooperation between Wuxi and Lianyungang in the field of new energy. Leveraging Lianyungang's strategic port transportation advantages and abundant biomass and straw resources, the project will efficiently convert resources into a continuous supply of green energy, promoting both resource utilization and the green, low-carbon transition of the energy sector.

Furthermore, the initiative will contribute to building a green, low-carbon industrial system, forming a green industry cluster. This will drive high-quality regional economic growth and reinforce the new energy sector's role in sustainable development.
