The Hanzhong Museum is a national first-class museum located in Hantai district, Hanzhong city, Shaanxi province. It is affiliated with the Hantai district bureau of culture and cultural relics and serves as a comprehensive local museum.
The museum was established in 1958 and started operation on Nov 25, 1959. It formally opened its doors to the entire society on May 23, 1978.
The Hanzhong Museum is a national AAA-level tourist attraction, a provincial-level civilized unit, a city-level garden unit, and a base for provincial patriotic education, science popularization, and national defense education.
The museum is built on the site of the ancient Hantai. Its architecture consists of three courtyards that gradually rise from south to north. The museum has eight exhibition halls and a display area of nearly 2,000 square meters.
