Aero Dili, the State-owned airline of Timor-Leste, plans to launch a direct flight on Feb 14 between its capital Dili and Xiamen, Southeast China's Fujian province.

This will mark the first direct flight route between China and Timor-Leste and the inaugural flight will depart from Dili to Xiamen on Feb 14 and return from Xiamen to Dili on Feb 15. The flight will operate once a week, connecting the two destinations.

Timor-Leste is located on Timor Island, the easternmost part of the Indonesian archipelago in Southeast Asia, with a land area of only 15,000 square kilometers.

Despite its small size, Timor-Leste is beloved by tourists for its unique island landscapes and pristine coral reef resources. In addition, coffee beans are a local specialty, with Timor-Leste's civet coffee being internationally known.

According to the information from the Chinese Consular Service website, Chinese citizens entering Timor-Leste by sea or air can apply for a visa on arrival.
