OVC's industry-education alliance makes Ministry of Education list

The industry-education alliance of the Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC) was recently included in the list of "2024 Typical Cases of Industry-Education Integration and School-Enterprise Cooperation" released by the Ministry of Education's Vocational and Adult Education Division.

The OVC industry-education alliance is one of the first 28 national-level city industry-education alliances in the country. It is also the only national-level city industry-education alliance pilot unit in Hubei province, with members including undergraduate institutions, secondary vocational schools, enterprises, industry associations, and research institutions.

The alliance focuses on key industry sectors such as optoelectronic information, life health, and high-end equipment manufacturing and aims to foster deep cooperation between universities and enterprises in order to cultivate highly-skilled talents urgently needed by the industry. Cooperation models will include government coordination, industry aggregation, enterprise guidance, and school leadership.

Relying on leading enterprises like HGTECH and Kingsoft, the alliance provides practical training for students and newly employed personnel. By the end of 2024, the cumulative number of trainees exceeded 1,000.

In October 2024, OVC industry-education alliance's public information service platform went online, offering services such as job recruitment, university talent supply, technology demand posting, and technology platform resource sharing, facilitating the efficient integration of resources between schools and enterprises and helping to balance supply and demand.

Moving forward, OVC will continue to promote the construction of its industry-education alliance, actively exploring models of industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation, while also driving deeper collaboration among alliance members, so as to cultivate more highly-skilled talents for industrial development.
