The China Shangqiu International Chinese Business Festival, held once every two years on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month, draws Chinese merchants from across the globe to Shangqiu, the birthplace of ancient Chinese commerce. This festival serves as a platform for exchange and cooperation among all Chinese merchants worldwide and as a key moment to inherit and promote the spirit of entrepreneurship.
During the festival, a wide array of activities takes place, including the Grand Worship Ceremony for Wang Hai, the International Chinese Business Investment (Shangqiu) Conference, and the Exhibition of Achievements in Tracing the Origins of the Yin-Period of the Shang Civilization. The latter showcases artifacts from the Shang Dynasty (c.16th century-11th century BC), emphasizing the region’s rich cultural and historical significance.
