On Nov 29, the highly anticipated Jingpingshan New Bridge in Guilin opened to traffic, marking a significant achievement in the city's journey toward becoming a world-class tourism destination.

The new bridge spans the scenic Lijiang River, connecting Xiangshan and Qixing districts. Replacing an outdated bridge built in the 1980s, the new structure addresses growing traffic demands and eliminates safety risks identified during inspections.

At 50 meters wide and 1,016 meters long, it features six lanes for motor vehicles, separate lanes for bicycles, and pedestrian walkways, ensuring smoother, safer travel.

The bridge was recognized as a major initiative by Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and is part of Guilin's "smooth traffic" plan. Beyond improving transportation, the bridge is expected to enhance urban functionality and improve local quality of life. It underscores Guilin's commitment to modern infrastructure as a foundation for a thriving tourism economy.
