At the Dapukou container terminal in Zhoushan, a variety of goods like furniture, pet supplies, and clothing were loaded onto a container ship on Nov 22, destined for overseas consumers.

This batch of goods declared for export fell under the general cross-border e-commerce "9610" model. The customs supervision code "9610" represents the cross-border trade e-commerce model, which caters primarily to small parcels, diverse categories, and high-frequency orders from cross-border e-commerce businesses to individual consumers.

Usually, such goods are exported by air. However, with the opening of Zhoushan port area's cross-border e-commerce "9610" sea freight export channel, companies now have a new option that offers high volume, low cost, and high efficiency for shipping goods overseas.

"Compared to air freight, sea freight is not only significantly more cost-effective but also has fewer restrictions. Containers can accommodate large quantities of diverse products, offering us more versatile logistics options," said Niu Gang, general manager of Yiwu Yizhan Tong E-Commerce Co.

To guarantee the smooth clearance of this batch of goods, Zhoushan Customs has coordinated with the departure point customs and relevant enterprises, clarified transit supervision requirements, and ensured smooth sharing of data.
