National table tennis tournament held in Xi'an

The 2nd National Fitness Table Tennis Invitational Tournament of the "Pomegranate Cup" took place on Saturday at the sport center of Xi'an Polytechnic University's Lintong campus in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, Northwest China.

Compared to the previous edition, this year's tournament has expanded in scale, featuring a higher level of competition and broader participation. In addition to local table tennis enthusiasts, it has also attracted athletes from more than 20 provinces and major cities across China.

In recent years, Lintong district has accelerated the integration of the "sports+tourism" industry by leveraging its abundant tourism resources, continuously enhancing sports and tourism infrastructure, and hosting a series of sports events and cultural festivals. Sports related industries have made significant progress.

By promoting the integration of sports events and tourism, Lintong has further invigorated the vitality of its tourism market and injected new momentum into the development of the district's cultural and tourism industry.

Lintong district has fully leveraged the driving role of the cultural and tourism industry, actively cultivating new consumption growth points around sports events, cultural tourism, and distinctive agriculture. It promotes the transformation from "cultural and tourism+" to "+cultural and tourism", and comprehensively advancing the construction of 22 cultural and tourism industry projects.

As a result, as of last month, Lintong district had received a total of 35.49 million domestic and  international tourists this year and hosted more than 6,000 tourism performances, including the "Song of Everlasting Regret".
