Pudong issues first Confirmation Letter for Foreign High Level Talents

Shanghai's Pudong New Area has recently issued its first Confirmation Letter for Foreign High Level Talents.

Pudong is the first district in China under city jurisdiction to be granted this authority.

The letter is primarily targeted at the following categories of expats:

Technological innovative talent: Scientists and researchers with significant achievements.

Senior corporate management talent: Executives of multinational companies or entrepreneurs with unique insights into business development.

Specialized skilled talent: Individuals with exceptional expertise in specific fields.

The confirmation letter is a required step for getting a talent visa (R visa), which enhances entry and exit convenience — including expedited processing, long validity, extended stay periods, and preferential treatment.
