The 18th "Hubei-Wuhan – Taiwan Week" Cross-Strait (Wuhan) Biomedical Industry Cooperation and Talent Exchange Conference was held on Oct 25 in the Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC).
Over 140 participants from Taiwan, including over 40 experts and entrepreneurs, representatives from 70 Taiwan-invested companies, and "3551 Initiative" talents, gathered to discuss collaboration in biomedicine, regenerative medicine, and cell and gene therapy.

During the event, OVC's Biolake signed cooperation agreements with the Health Club of Taiwan and Xin Beichen Group to establish the Taiwan Youth Life Science Innovation Space. It aims to achieve win-win cooperation in industrial projects, technology exchange, and youth talent development.
Wang Guangbin, chairman of Xin Beichen Group, stated, "We will use 1,700 square meters of land to build the Taiwan Youth Life Science Innovation Space, inviting Taiwan youth to incubate projects and conduct technical research in collaboration with local enterprises. We have already partnered with two Taiwan companies and aim to attract more Taiwan youth to start businesses in OVC."

A Taiwan entrepreneur, who founded Wuhan Taiyin E-commerce Co in Wuhan this year, said, "We mainly bring Taiwan products to the Chinese mainland. Wuhan's vast market and supportive policies attracted me to start a business here."
OVC is home to over 100 Taiwan enterprises, including Foxconn and DK Biochemical, ranking first in Central China in terms of the total number of Taiwan-invested enterprises.
In biomedicine, OVC has established a pharmaceutical-themed park in the cross-Strait industrial cooperation zone (Wuhan Industrial Park). Officials from OVC welcome Taiwan entrepreneurs to invest in OVC and jointly advance cross-Strait biomedical industry cooperation.
