The 2024 Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Ice Hockey Tournament began on Oct 12 in Harbin, capital of Northeast China's Heilongjiang province. It has drawn significant attention from domestic and international hockey fans.

The arena was packed to capacity, with 5,400 enthusiastic supporters in attendance.

The SCO Ice Hockey Tournament is an international event under the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and features participation from member countries.

In the opening match, China's Shenzhen Kunlun Red Star faced Kazakhstan's AHL Almaty team. Shenzhen Kunlun Red Star secured a decisive victory, with a final score of 3-1.

In another match, the Primorsky Krai team from the Russian Federation defeated the Naryn Eagles from the Kyrgyz Republic, winning 22-6.

The tournament is organized by the Chinese Ice Hockey Association, the Heilongjiang Provincial Sports Department, and the Harbin municipal government.
