A significant milestone in the construction of the Harbin-Yichun High-Speed Railway (HSR) was achieved on Oct 4, when the final concrete pour concluded the continuous beam of the bridge spanning National Expressway 222.

This marks the opening of a crucial passage for installing box girders.

The bridge, located in Harbin's Hulan district, stretches 35.41 kilometers, making it the longest bridge over a national highway on the Harbin to Tieli section of the Harbin-Yichun HSR. It is a pivotal and challenging project characterized by high technical standards, stringent construction precision, and rigorous quality control requirements.

The Harbin-Yichun HSR extends the Beijing-Harbin and Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao corridors and is notable for being China's northernmost high-speed railway under construction. It is the first railway to traverse areas of island permafrost.

Once completed, the railway will dramatically reduce travel time between Harbin and Yichun from approximately seven hours to just two, enhancing connectivity and economic development in the region.
