White Crane Ridge (Baihe liang) is a remarkable stone ridge located at the confluence of the Yangtze and Wujiang rivers in Fuling district, Chongqing.

Since the Tang Dynasty (618-907), inscriptions have been made on the ridge, recording low water levels and dates, while fish have been carved from the stone (used as water-level benchmarks) for over 1,200 years. Renowned as a "hydrological wonder" worldwide, the White Crane Ridge inscriptions showcase the literary and calligraphic masterpieces of various dynasties, earning it the nickname of "underwater stele forest".

Today, you can admire these historic inscriptions at the Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum.
