The opening ceremony of the 11th China Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (Science and Technology Innovation Special Event) final, along with the "Youth Shoulder Responsibility for China's Modernization" exchange and exhibition, took place in the Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC) on Sept 25.
This competition is one of the most influential and highly anticipated youth innovation and entrepreneurship events in China. It was first introduced in 2021 and has been held in Hubei for four consecutive years, attracting over 21,000 innovation and entrepreneurship projects from across the country.

This year's competition featured three groups and five categories. The three groups included innovation, start-up, and growth, while the five categories revolved around Hubei's advantageous industries such as optoelectronics, new energy and intelligent connected vehicles, medical engineering and life health, intelligent manufacturing and high-end equipment, and other industries.
After the selection process, over 6,000 project teams from across the country were selected to participate in the event, with 75 projects making it to the finals. In the end, 25 gold prizes and 50 silver prizes were awarded.
Moreover, for the first time this year, over 100 "Youth Technology Achievement Transformation Agents" in fields such as policy consultation, intellectual property services, investment and financing matching, verification and pilot platforms, and incubation empowerment were invited to observe the competition and facilitate the signing and implementation of excellent projects in Hubei.
