Harbin decorates for National Day

As the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China approaches, Harbin plans to enhance its festive atmosphere by adorning 101 major streets and four squares across nine districts with 13,232 national flags on streetlight poles.

So far, 5,000 flags have been put up, with the remaining expected to be in place by Sept 28.

The city's parks are also being decorated for the celebration.

To date, 1,137 flags and 137 lanterns have been hung and 12 promotional boards, three LED display boards, and 37,000 potted flowers have been installed.
