As Hungary continues to strengthen ties with China, a unique collaboration emerged in the form of the "Smart Hungary" Technology Project Roadshow and Matchmaking Conference held in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, on Sept 18.

The event aimed to foster collaboration between Hungarian and Chinese tech entrepreneurs, with a focus on making joint advancements in science and technology. Hungary's Embassy in China, through its First Secretary for Science and Technology, Balogh Andras Zoltan, expressed enthusiasm for expanding Ningbo's innovation network through such platforms.

Seven cutting-edge projects from Hungary's LC Innoconsult, an innovation management consulting company, showcased advancements in new materials, smart manufacturing, and green energy, resonating with Ningbo's burgeoning sectors like low-altitude economy, energy conservation, and industrial robotics. Among the highlights was an explosive cladding technology, which combines metals under high pressure while preserving their properties, and a vertical axis wind turbine integrated with advanced battery management systems.

"Ningbo, a thriving city with direct flights to Hungary, presents ample opportunities for collaboration," said Balázs Mogyorósi, director of the Technology Transfer Department at LC Innoconsult. He added that China's rapid growth in AI and humanoid robotics underscores the potential for comprehensive scientific and technological partnerships.

Liu Liqun, president of the Ningbo Association for Science and Technology, said that the "Smart Hungary" roadshow has become a signature event for scientific and technological exchanges between Ningbo and Hungary.
