Ningbo Lishe International Airport was bustling with activity during this year's summer vacation from July 1 to Aug 31, during which over 1,850 inbound and outbound flights transported more than 190,000 passengers, as announced recently by local authorities.

Both flight frequency and passenger volume saw a rise of around 30 percent compared to the same period in the previous year.

A significant milestone was achieved on Aug 6, when the airport registered over 4,000 inbound and outbound passengers in a single day, setting a new record in daily passenger flow since the full resumption of customs clearance operations. Immigration authorities at the airport attribute this surge in travel activity to various factors, including the increasing number of countries offering visa exemptions to China, the implementation of the 144-hour transit visa exemption policy, and the airport's expansion of its flight network to accommodate diverse travel preferences.

Throughout the summer, Ningbo introduced new direct flight routes connecting the city to Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia, while also improving connectivity to popular destinations like Hong Kong and Osaka.

Among the preferred international destinations for Ningbo residents during the summer holiday were Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Macao, while visitors arriving in the city primarily came from countries such as Japan, Vietnam, the United States, India, and Malaysia.
