Direct air route links Xi'an to Thailand's Koh Samui

The inaugural ceremony for the direct passenger air route from Xi'an to Koh Samuiin Thailandwas held at Xi'an Xianyang International Airport, on Aug 14.

On the same day, the maiden flight departed from Xi'an Xianyang International Airport with 127 passengers on board. The flight is set to reach Koh Samui in just 4.5 hours, significantly reducing travel time and costs for passengers.

Operating as flight number TV6111, the Xi'an to Koh Samui route will depart from Xi'an every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday at 12:50 pm, arriving in Koh Samui at 4:20 pm. The return flight, TV6112, will depart from Koh Samui at 5:20 pm and arrive in Xi'an at 10:40 pm.

Since China and Thailand announced permanent visa exemption agreements, travel between the two countries has become more convenient. The opening of this air route will further enhance tourism development and cultural exchange between China and Thailand, especially considering the continuous popularity of traveling to Thailand.

Moving forward, Xi'an Xianyang International Airport plans to enhance its international aviation network by introducing more international routes, including destinations such as Hanoi and Milan.
