The Chang'an International Chorus Festival came to a graceful close on the evening of Aug 1 at the Xi'an Concert Hall, as the final note gently faded away.

Since its opening on July 29, the festival showcased 22 distinguished choirs from cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xi'an, and Wuhan, each conveying emotions and stories through their performances.

The event saw participation from over 10 esteemed domestic and international artistic masters alongside nearly 200 conductors, artistic directors, and independent observers, who contributed to the festival's competitive and outstanding results.

Geoffrey Boers from the University of Washington in Seattle played a pivotal role, carefully evaluating each choir and conductor. He also engaged in meaningful face-to-face exchanges with Chinese children during master classes, imparting valuable techniques.

During the closing ceremony, the award-winning teams delivered a captivating visual and auditory experience to the audience.

In addition to the main events, the festival featured a charity performance titled "Chang'an Poem Unending", which combined ancient poetry with modern choral music. This special performance was available to the public for free through advance reservations.
