Harbin, the host of the 9th Asian Winter Games, to be held in 2025, and capital of Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, successfully completed the first batch of green power transactions for the upcoming Games on July 26, amounting to a total of 32.1 million kWh.

This purchase will ensure a more robust and sustainable power supply for the event.

The recently-acquired green power will be used from August to December this year for preparations, test events, and training sessions of the Games.

The transaction involved six power sales companies representing 17 users, including the Harbin International Convention and Sports Center and the Shangri-La Hotel, engaging in deals with local renewable energy enterprises.

Heilongjiang province is committed to hosting an "all-green" Games. By leveraging the power trading platform, the province aims to ensure that the sports venues and related facilities use clean energy throughout the event and the preparation period.

This initiative not only guarantees a safe and stable power supply but also promotes the integration of green practices in event organization and urban development.
