Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, recently issued the "national peaking carbon emission pilot (Taiyuan) implementation plan," which includes a series of tasks to promote the comprehensive green and low-carbon transformation of Guiyang during its development into a pilot city for peaking carbon emissions.

It aims to achieve breakthroughs in key areas such as nurturing green and low-carbon industries, controlling total coal consumption, increasing industrial energy efficiency, and developing a zero-carbon transportation system.

By 2025, Taiyuan aims to complete the initial establishment of a low-carbon industrial system, optimize the energy structure, and achieve effective progress in the construction of a peaking carbon emission pilot area.

By 2030, significant progress is expected in Taiyuan's comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development.

According to the implementation plan, Taiyuan will accelerate the development of new quality productive forces, seize opportunities for the development of low-carbon emerging industries, and strengthen the new energy, energy conservation, and environmental protection industry clusters.

Future industry incubation projects are being implemented to cultivate industrial chains such as next-generation semiconductors, synthetic biology, next-generation information technology, and intelligent terminals.

Focusing on third-generation semiconductors, the synthetic biology industrial chain, and other segmented areas, a group of technologically-advanced "little giant" and "hidden champion" enterprises with independent intellectual property rights and strong core competitiveness will be nurtured.

In accelerating the green and low-carbon transformation of urban and rural construction, Taiyuan will establish a dynamic system of low-carbon and intensive development.
