Qinling intl guitar art festival opens in Xi'an

The 7th Qinling International Guitar Art Festival opened with a grand ceremony and a concert featuring both local and international artists in Lintong district, Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on July 28.

Renowned guitarists and enthusiasts from around the world gathered to create a harmonious blend of Eastern and Western cultures through their beloved instruments, introducing attendees to the charm of Lintong.

During the concert, artists from Sweden, South Korea, Russia, Japan, and across China passionately performed numerous classic guitar pieces, offering the audience a unique sensory experience.

Since its inception in 2015, the festival has been successfully hosted six times, attracting guitarists from over 30 countries to deliver captivating musical performance to Chinese music lovers and forging lasting bonds between guitar lovers and the majestic Qinling Mountains.

Running from July 28 to 31, the four-day festival will feature eight master concerts, 10 guitar masterclasses and music lectures, along with a national guitar competition encompassing classical, folk fingerstyle, and electric guitar categories.

Throughout the festival, organizers will also host music flash mobs at renowned sites like Huaqing Palace, allowing more visitors and guitar fans to revel in the musical extravaganza while experiencing the charm and vibrancy of Lintong.
