In 2024, Xi'an Xianyang International Airport has seen a rapid resurgence in the number of international passenger routes, with a total of 30 international and regional routes connecting to cities like London, Sydney, Moscow, Dubai, and Budapest having been resumed or launched.
As of July 18, the airport boasts 360 routes linking over 230 cities globally.
By the end of June, the airport had operated 4,790 international flights this year, carrying 531,000 passengers, marking significant year-on-year increases of 109 percent and 247.7 percent, respectively.
During the summer travel season, an estimated 1,760 international flights are set to operate, transporting around 190,000 passengers.
Plans for the year include resuming flights to Istanbul in Turkiye, Chiang Mai in Thailand, and Phnom Penh in Cambodia, and launching new routes to Chimkent in Kazakhstan and Tbilisi in Georgia.
Moreover, the airport plans to collaborate with airlines to optimize flight schedules, allocate resources efficiently, enhance cooperation with customs, streamline international flight procedures, and advance the development of its international route network.
