Nantong university students embark on a music tour in Italy

Thirty-three students and teachers of the School of Art at Nantong University in Jiangsu province recently embarked on a 14-day music tour in Siena, an Italian sister-city of Nantong.

They received a warm welcome from the municipal government of Siena, the University for Foreigners of Siena, and the Conservatory of Siena.

The Nantong students commenced their immersive study at the two schools while Nantong University teachers were invited to give professional instructions to local students.

During the visit, a concert was presented by students and teachers from both Nantong and Siena.

The overseas study tour is the fourth of its kind since Nantong and Siena forged their sister-city relationship in 2020. Members of the study tour were impressed by the development of art and educational principles in a different culture, saying that they have gained insights into both Chinese and western music.
