The RCEP Enterprise Service Consultation Center in Shanghai's Hongqiao International Central Business District (CBD) launched its online platform on July 19. This move is set to empower enterprises to participate in the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement and expand international trade opportunities.
From January to June, Hongqiao International CBD-based enterprises increased their imports and exports to RCEP member states by a 30.73 percent year-on-year increase, totaling 10.1 billion yuan ($1.3 billion).
The new platform includes a cross-border supply chain planning module that provides services such as origin determination to assist companies in complying with rules of origin and optimizing supply chains. It also includes an overseas service zone, which covers 233 investment projects in 10 RCEP countries, as well as a Yangtze River Delta service section that promotes regional economic integration.
The launch event attracted over 140 representatives from more than 90 international organizations, business associations, and enterprises, with an additional 1,000 companies participating online.
Marking the center's second anniversary, the event also saw the launch of the "Benefitting Enterprises in Hongqiao" activity series, certified 12 business experts from various sectors, and concluded with a strategic planning event for enterprises interested in investing in Thailand.
To improve public services, the "Benefitting Enterprises in Hongqiao" brand will host specialized events on topics such as tariff planning, supply chain finance, and work visas, targeting countries like Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand.
