With the summer vacation having begun, cultural facilities in Nantong, Jiangsu province, are busier than ever, becoming the most popular summer destinations in the city.

Visiting Nantong Library on a scorching afternoon, one would be shocked by the crowds and vehicles outside. Every seat in the public rest area and coffee room on the second floor, the book lending area on the third floor and the reading room on the fourth floor is occupied.

Statistics show that since the start of the summer vacation on July 1, the library has received over 6,000 visitors every day on average, about 2,000 visitors more than usual.

To better serve and satisfy the demands of readers of different ages, Nantong library will arrange reading and writing training programs and other activities for young people and extend service hours at night schools for grownups.

Museums in Nantong have also been frequented by both students and their parents in recent days. These establishments have offered a variety of exhibitions and activities involving calligraphy, painting, opera, and nature to enrich the daily lives of local residents.

Nantong Art Museum, for example, has received an increasing number of visitors since the start of July, with an average of 1,500 visitors on weekends.
